You might be wondering what you can do on your own to deal with your situation until you have an appointment with a dentist. There are some easy tips that you can follow if you have a dental emergency.
Try to avoid touching the tooth by the root, instead carrying it by the crown. It can be rinsed in milk and left in a cup of it or placed back into the tooth socket until you can see a dentist. In some cases, if you’re seen quickly, the tooth may be able to be recovered. If not, we can advise you on the best tooth replacement option for your situation.
If you can find the crown, bring it in with you to your appointment. We may be able to repair damage to a crown or a veneer to restore the look and function of your tooth.
